Most memorable golf story

I would appreciate you sharing your most memorable golf story with me. I will start things off by sharing one of mine with you, just to show you how easy it can be...
I'm going back almost 40 years, but it is a story so easy to relive that you would think it happened yesterday!
I was a senior in high school playing on the golf team. Because we were a pretty good team (12 players with 10 handicaps or less) we wanted to travel and play in as many tournaments as possible, so we could test our abilities against other teams. But like most high
school sports programs there wasn't much money. It became very obvious that if the Athletic Director was going to allow us to travel and play we needed to raise the cash ourselves. As the saying goes "opportunity knocked at a very opportune time" and the golf team took over the concession stand at all the home baseball games... We purchased the product to sell and manned the stand, making enough money for the four varsity players to travel and test themselves in tournaments around the Pacific Northwest. With golf and baseball being played virtually at the same time who worked the concession stand you ask? The eight guys who didn't make the team were in charge! Talk about an incentive to practice and get better...
We proved to be pretty good and infact went on later that spring to win the state championship!
To read about that great golf story, find the book "The Spirit of Golf" and under my name you will find the short story.

See how easy that was? Now tell me yours...
